Background
Redhill School is a non-denominational private school in the heart of Johannesburg with more than 110 years of history. The school has two campuses – the high school and preparatory schools are in Summit Road, while a separate pre-preparatory is situated in West Road North. The school has an excellent academic track record with an unbroken 100 percent pass rate for the last 30 years – a success Redhill attributes to its frequent staff workshops, strong teacher-student relationships and a low student-to-teacher ratio. Pupils and staff are encouraged to strike a balance between academic and personal pursuits, and a wide range of extra-curricular sporting and cultural activities are on offer. The drama and dance departments are particularly good.
What the school says
"Redhill has developed a deserved reputation for being a 'family friendly' school. The school accepts both boys and girls, from pre-preparatory to matric. Since it caters to entire families, Redhill builds and fosters strong relationships with pupils and parents. Teachers get to know their pupils and their families very well, a benefit that spills over into the classroom, onto the stage and in the sports fields. Features such as aftercare and holiday care facilities for younger learners, and a wide range of extra-murals for older learners also proves a very attractive feature for families. The very active parent body also contributes to a very warm and caring school community."
